Hamantaschen, Old Fashioned Prune Filling (P, KLP, TNT)

Yield: About 2-1/2 cups

12 oz. (about 2 cups) dried pitted prunes
1 cup water
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup sugar

Combine the prunes, water, cinnamon, and sugar in a medium pot and cook, covered, over medium heat until the prunes can be mashed.

Mash with a fork and cook to the desired thickness.

Refrigerate until cold. Use with Hamantaschen w/Prune Filling II (click here for recipe)

Poster's Notes:
If your prunes are not very moist, you will need to use this recipe.
