1-1/2 tablespoons oil
Heat the oil in a small skillet and sauté the onions over moderately low heat, stirring frequently, until nicely browned.
Combine the onions with the remaining ingredients in the bowl of food processor. Process until smooth, scraping down sides as needed. Taste and adjust seasoning. Store in refrigerator and bring to room temperature before serving.

1 cup steamed fresh string beans, cut into 1" lengths
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
I have no idea where I got this recipe but it's delicious and a favorite of my vegetarian son. It's great with raw vegetables, crackers, or matzo.
