Onions Au Gratin (D, KLP, TNT)

Serves: 6-8

8 medium Vidalia onions, sliced 1/4" thick
2 tbsp. butter or margarine
1/2 cup cream (can use fat free)
1/4 cup cooking sherry or wine
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan or Romano cheese

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Sauté onions in butter until limp, 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove and place in 1-1/2 qt. baking dish.

Add cream, sherry, pepper, and mix. Top with Swiss cheese, then Parmesan or Romano. Bake until top is brown and bubbling hot, 15-20 minutes.
