Fruit Soup IV (Marak Peyrot) (P, KLP, TNT)

Serves: 6

1 medium cantaloupe
6 cups fresh strawberries
1 pound seedless grapes
4 medium apples
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice, divided
1/2 cup sugar
6 cups water
2 cups fresh orange juice

Peel and seed cantaloupe. Chop coarsely. Hull strawberries and cut in half. Stem grapes. Peel, core, and chop apples.

In large saucepan, combine fruit, 1/4 cup lemon juice, sugar, and water. Bring to boil, reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes.

Puree fruit in blender or food processor and return to soup. Stir in remaining 1/4 cup lemon juice and orange juice. Chill thoroughly.

Variation: Stir in 1/2 cup chilled semi-dry white wine before serving.
