Cucumber Soup/Dip, Bulgarian (Tarator) (D, KLP, TNT)

Serves: 4 or more

2 to 3 small cucumbers, peeled and diced
1/2 cup raisins, washed and drained (optional)
About 3 cups of Bulgarian sour yogurt
Small amount of sour cream (optional)
Few chopped scallions (optional)
2 to 3 cloves of crushed garlic
2 to 3 tablespoons of walnuts, coarsely chopped (optional)
Salt
Pepper
Fresh dill, chopped
Small amount of fresh mint, chopped (optional)

Combine all ingredients and season to taste with salt and pepper. Refrigerate before serving.

Variation:
Add small amount of water, and a few...ice cubes!!! Serve as a soup.

Poster's Notes:
In Israel use Danone Bio 3% fat in place of the sour yogurt.

Many ingredients are marked optional; this is due to the fact that this same dish is prepared in different styles.
