1/4 cup soy sauce
Combine all ingredients and mix well. Store in a covered container in refrigerator. Use for chicken, meatballs, fish, tofu, or vegetables.
Sauce keeps about one month in refrigerator.
To thicken sauce, bring to a boil. Dissolve 1 tbsp. cornstarch in 2 tbsp. cold water or orange juice. Add to sauce and simmer 2 to 3 minutes, until thick, stirring often. If desired add a dash of red pepper flakes to spice up the sauce.
Honey Garlic Sauce: Prepare above sauce, but use only 1/4 cup brown sugar and add 2 tbsp. of honey.
Recipe can be doubled easily.
