Bulghur Bureka (P, TNT)
Source: adapted from Norene Gilletz's Kasha Knish recipe

Puff pastry dough
1 large onion
3 tablespoons oil
1 cup bulghur/bulgur/burghul
2-1/2 cups boiling water
salt and pepper to taste
egg for glazing

Filling:
Chop onion. Sauté lightly in oil. Add bulghur and sauté until covered with oil onion mixture. Add water and seasonings. Cover and simmer until water is absorbed. Let cool.

Assembly:
Roll out puff pastry dough. Spread bulghur on one side of dough. Fold dough and pinch edges. Glaze with beaten egg.

Serve with mushroom sauce.

Poster's Notes: I personally use the Osem instant packet. A great appetizer! Kids like it too!
