Chutney, Apple (P, TNT)
Source: "The Joy of Cooking," probably the old edition)
Serves: approximately 2 cups

1 lemon, seeded and chopped
1 clove garlic, skinned and chopped
5 apples, peeled and chopped
2-1/2 cups brown sugar
1-1/2 cups seeded raisins
3 oz. crystallized ginger, or 1 tsp. ginger
1-1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
2 cups cider vinegar

Simmer all the ingredients together until the fruit is tender.

Put into jars. Freeze or serve immediately.
