Chocolate Pecan Pie I (P, TNT)
Source: One of my son's girl friends
Yield: This is for a 10" pie. We made 2 8" pies.

Prepared pie crust
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 cup of pecans
1 cup of chocolate chips
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup dark corn syrup
3/4 cup of light corn syrup

I used a prepared crust.

Pour layer of chocolate chips on the unbaked pie shell. Combine everything else and pour over chips. Bake 45 minutes at 375°F. It will not appear firmly set but should be fine.

For an 8" pie:
Use less chips, use 1/2 cup of light and 1/2 cup of dark corn syrup.

If you close your eyes this has no calories.

Poster's Notes:
This recipe has nine lives and is very tried and true. This one came from one of my son's girl friends from 25 years ago. She was from San Diego and got the recipe from a girlfriend in Framingham, MA who got it from her mother who I knew as a fellow congregant of my temple. A young man from Israel who has come to the US to study asked me for the recipe for his mother who remembered it when she and her husband were going to school in Syracuse and became a friend of my second son and came for a holiday. If this makes sense, I'll eat my hat. Oh the joys of Jewish Geography.

It is quick and easy and pareve.
