5 cups flour, or more as needed
Place flour in large bowl and make a well in the middle. Break up yeast into well. Add warm water and sugar.
When bubbly, add rest of ingredients. Mix well until well combined. Cover loosely.
Let rise in a warm place until double in size (approximately half hour). Punch dough down and let rise again.
Roll out small pieces at a time. Add cinnamon, nuts, and sugar. Cut in triangles. Roll each triangle and bake on a lightly greased pan until brown. (about 1 hour).

I asked my mom about it and she said that rugelach sounds like the one my grandmother used to made, and what Mom makes now. I finally got her to write out a copy of the recipe and she gave it to me last week. Now, I am sending it on to the group.
