Rugelach, Yeast-Raised II (P, TNT)
Source: My grandmother
Serves: Varies

5 cups flour, or more as needed
2 pieces yeast, compressed
1 cup warm water
3/4 to 1 cup sugar
1 tbsp. salt
1 tsp vanilla
3 eggs
1 cup oil

Place flour in large bowl and make a well in the middle. Break up yeast into well. Add warm water and sugar.

When bubbly, add rest of ingredients. Mix well until well combined. Cover loosely.

Let rise in a warm place until double in size (approximately half hour). Punch dough down and let rise again.

Roll out small pieces at a time. Add cinnamon, nuts, and sugar. Cut in triangles. Roll each triangle and bake on a lightly greased pan until brown. (about 1 hour).

Poster's Notes:
I asked my mom about it and she said that rugelach sounds like the one my grandmother used to made, and what Mom makes now. I finally got her to write out a copy of the recipe and she gave it to me last week. Now, I am sending it on to the group.
