Macaroni and Cheese, Baked III (D, TNT)

Serves: 6 to 8

3 cups Bechamel Sauce (click here for recipe)
1 pound mostaccioli noodles (about 2-1/2" long)
4 oz. Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
3/4 lbs. Fontina cheese, coarsely grated (a butterkase can be substituted)
Salt and fresh ground black pepper
1 cup buttered bread crumbs

Prepare the Bechamel first.

Boil the pasta.

Combine the grated cheeses and set aside.

Butter a 3-quart baking dish. Drain and place 1/3 of the pasta in dish. Cover with 1/3 of the cheese, pour over the cheese 1/3 of the sauce. Grate on plenty of black pepper. Make 2 more layers.

Sprinkle the buttered bread crumbs all over the top. Bake at 350°F for 15 to 20 minutes until well browned and bubbly.
