3/4 cup canned (i.e., already soft) chickpeas/garbanzo beans
Heat the olive oil over a medium-hot burner.
Add turkey bacon and sauté until quite crisp. Add onions and continue to cook until translucent. Next, add tomatoes, minced garlic and chickpeas and sauté for about 2 more minutes.
Add stock and bring to a light boil; reduce heat and add wine, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes. Cook just below boiling for about 1 more minute. Taste for seasoning. Add herbs and cook for about 2 more minutes.
Toss with linguini. Top with chopped green onion or chopped black olives.
