Marinate the salmon in all but 1/3 cup of marinade for about 30 minutes. Brush the rest on while grilling.
I let the fish defrost and marinate for a few hours then I baked it. My son then asked which store I bought the fish in. He was shocked that I made the marinade. It was yummy.
For six salmon steaks totally weighing about 2.1 kg (4-1/2 lbs.), I doubled the recipe while not having enough. So, I ended up adding 3/4 cup tamari sauce and 1/4 cup oil. I only had about 3 tbsp. of horseradish and I used dark brown sugar instead of light brown.
