Noodle Kugel, Two-Stage (D, TNT)

First Stage:
1/2 lb. broad noodles
1/4 lb. butter
1/2 pt. sour cream
1 lb. cottage cheese
handful raisins

Second Stage:
3 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Day 1:
Boil noodles in salted water. Drain. Mix with butter, sour cream, cottage cheese, and raisins. Put in greased 9"x13" pan and cover with saran wrap. Chill overnight.

Day 2:
Beat eggs and add sugar, milk, and vanilla. Pour over noodles. DON'T MIX. Bake at 375°F for 1-3/4 hours or until lightly browned.

Poster's Notes:
Comes out like a very rich souffle.

I use margarine instead of butter, yogurt instead of sour cream and low fat cottage cheese, and it's still wonderful.
