5 to 6 potatoes
Process onions, eggs, salt and pepper, and chicken soup base. Add chunked potatoes and chop using pulse button. Put into the lined (optional) crockpot. Add the meat, and bury it in the potatoes. Cover and leave overnight.
Poster's Notes:
I call this a geribineh cholent. Use your favorite potato kugel recipe, and put some large cubes of flanken, or chicken, in the middle. The chicken turns out really soft, and the bones are so soft, you can eat them. I prefer using meat instead. I usually put the whole thing in a crock pot bag and leave it in the crockpot overnight. It is really delicious! My son had a cholent contest in his shul, where every week for a month three cholents were made on Friday night, and was judged after the Shabbos kiddush. He used this recipe and came in 2nd!
