Casserole, Hot Fruit I (D/P, TNT)
Source: "Collected Delectables, Our Favorite Kosher Recipes," by Sisterhood, Rodef Sholom Temple Sisterhood
Serves: 12-14

1 medium can sliced pineapple
1 medium can peach halves
1 medium can pear halves
1 medium can apricot halves
1 jar apple rings (I rinsed the syrup off these)
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 stick margarine (or butter)
1 cup sherry

Drain the fruit.

Cut the pineapple slices, (also peaches) in half.

Arrange the fruit in alternate layers in a medium deep casserole.

Mix the butter or margarine, sugar, flour, and sherry in top of a double boiler and cook over water until thickened.

Pour mixture over the fruit.

Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Before serving, heat in a 350°F degree oven until bubbly and hot, about 25-30 minutes.

Serve with chicken or any fowl.

Poster's Notes:
This recipe is delicious. We have used it at Sisterhood Functions, and I have made it at home and gotten rave reviews.

For those who need to watch their sugar use the fruits canned in juice and I used brown sugar substitute.

Also a delicious desert. Might be good over a plain cake.
