Applesauce, Rosh Hashana (P, TNT)
Source: My friend Miranda who is a member of the Jewish-Portugese community in Amsterdam
Serves: 6

dried apples (from the supermarket)
1 big pan
water

Put the apples in the pan filled with water until they are covered and put them on low heat, half covered with lid and let simmer for about 2-3 hours until they are lightly pink and very soft. You may need to add some water during the cooking.

Serving tips: Use a little of the cooking water with the apples to make a compote.

Poster's Notes:
The quantity depends on the package, but from my own experience, make one package at the time because they become normal size again.
