1 can cherry pie filling (16 or 20 ounces)
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Use a 1-1/2 quart casserole or 8" square pan. Butter/grease the baking dish.
Spread pie filling in the baking dish. Put the bread cubes on top of the cherries. Add the lemon juice to the melted butter and drizzle on top.
Combine milk, eggs, and sugar. Pour on top of the bread. Sprinkle on the chocolate chips and press mixture down.
Bake at 350°F until the center is done, 50-60 minutes.

4 cups cubed challah (small cubes)
1/4 cup melted butter
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
1 cup milk
3 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup chocolate chips
You can substitute coconut milk for the milk, if you like the taste. I have done this successfully.
