Crumble, Apple Blackberry (P, TNT)
Source: Unknown
Serves: 8 to 10

1 cup berries in season
2 cups apples, grated or chopped
1 tbsp. cinnamon
4 tbsp. brown sugar

1 cup rolled oats
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. cinnamon
3 tbsp. vegetable shortening

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Make Filling:
Peel and chop or grate apples.

Mix berries with apples. Measure cinnamon and brown sugar and add to fruit mixture. Stir well. Set aside.

Make Topping and Assembly:
Measure and mix flour and rolled oats. Cut in vegetable shortening with a dull knife and/or fork until the mixture is crumbling. Press half this mixture in the base of a pan, covering the bottom and a little of the sides.

Pour fruit mixture over the bottom crust. Sprinkle rest of dry mixture on top.

Put in oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Poster's Notes:
Can use Mackintosh or Spartan apples.

Do not use instant oats.

Instead of rolled oats and flour you can use almond flour combined with crushed walnuts.
