1/4 lb. butter
Cream together the butter and sugar. Add remaining ingredients in order listed.
Dough will be sticky. Make three long loaves on lightly greased jellyroll pan. I have found the easiest way to do this is by mounding spoonfuls of dough in 3 long lines and then forming and flattening them to about 1/2" with a spoon or fork.
Sprinkle top with sugar. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes.
Cool slightly and cut on the diagonal into 1/2" slices.
Poster's Notes:
You can also turn them into biscotti by toasting them in the oven. After slicing, lie them on the side, toast one side and then turn. They will become very crunchy and are wonderful. Works well with both versions.
