2 cups butter, melted
Preheat oven to 325°F.
Melt butter; add the sugars and mix. Let cool to room temperature. Meanwhile, beat eggs in a separate bowl. Stir into butter/sugar mixture.
Add vanilla, cinnamon, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Mix well.
Add flour in increments, mixing after each addition.
Roll dough into walnut-sized balls (chill first if dough is too sticky).
Combine the sugar and cinnamon in small bowl. Roll the dough balls in the mixture. Place balls on a greased cookie sheet.
Flatten the dough balls with a greased or floured spatula. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until a touch of gold appears on edges of cookies. Cool on cookie sheet for 2 minutes and remove from sheet.
