1 cup whole wheat flour
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Mix dry ingredients. Add fats, eggs, and flavoring.
Spoon into 9" lightly greased pan. Bake 30 minutes (until crust forms and batter pulls away from the sides of the pan).
Poster's Notes:
I use a 9"x13" pan, and line it with parchment paper. The baking time is about the same, and I cut it into many more pieces, usually about 36 to 48.
I've substituted almond extract for the vanilla, and added up to a half cup of ground almonds for half the flour. It gives them a bit more sandy texture, but they're still good.
You can add up to a cup of nuts (walnuts are my preferred brownie nut).
When they come out of the oven, pour about 1 cup of chocolate chips onto the top, wait 5 minutes, then spread them like frosting.

Nutritional Info Per Serving: N/A
2 cups sugar
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 stick margarine, melted
3/4 cup vegetable oil
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract or 1 teaspoon instant coffee
The original recipe may have called for butter and baking chocolate, but I make it pareve by using cocoa powder and oil, as well as margarine. Despite the whole wheat flour, these are _NOT_ health food.
