Brownies, Chocolate Orgasmic (D/P, TNT)

Yield: 12 2"x2" brownies

4 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate
8 ounces unsalted butter or unsalted margarine
2 cups granulated sugar
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. almond extract
1/2 tsp. salt
4 eggs
1 cup nuts
1-1/3 cups 6 ounces, 170g) cake flour
1 tsp. baking powder or less if it's exceptionally fresh

Pre-heat oven to 350°F.

In microwave-safe quart bowl, melt chocolate and butter. Add rest of ingredients in order given.

Pour and spread batter in a 9"x13" pan lined with baking parchment and bake for 35 minutes on the center rack. Don't over bake them.

Cool on a rack (after about 10 minutes out of the oven, I slide the brownies out of the pan to finish cooling directly on the rack).

Poster's Notes:
I use walnuts and I don't chop them; I like big pieces.

This recipe won the Minnesota State Fair. I've made them many times, and even though results are not guaranteed if you vary the ingredients, I have made them with all-purpose flour, after removing 1-1/2 tablespoons of flour, and made them pareve with unsalted margarine.
