Brownies, Butterscotch (D, TNT)

Yield: 18

1/4 cup butter
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 egg, lightly beaten
3/4 cup flour, sift before measuring
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Melt butter over low heat (watch carefully, can burn very easily).

Remove from heat; stir in light brown sugar until lightly blended; cool.

Stir in the egg.

Stir flour, baking powder, and salt together; blend in.

Lastly, mix in the vanilla. (This can all be done in a big pot or bowl to make cleanup easier)

Spread into well buttered 8"x8"x2" baking pan.

Sprinkle chopped nuts on top. Bake 25 minutes. DO NOT OVER BAKE! Cut in bars while warm.
