1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
Cream butter and sugar; blend in apple butter and egg.
Stir flour with baking soda, baking powder and salt, stir into creamed mixture. Stir in oats and coconut.
Spread in greased 13"x9"x2" pan. Bake at 350°F about 20 minutes. If desired, sift powdered sugar over the top while still warm. Cool and cut into bars.

1 cup flaked coconut
Original poster said they didn't like coconut, so they used rice crispy cereal instead, but would have just doubled the oatmeal next time. I wanted to cut down the fat, so used 1/2 cup of coconut, plus an extra 1/2 cup oatmeal. It came out tasting fine, but it seemed a bit crumbly.
