Chrain II (P, KLP, TNT)

Yield: about 1-1/2 pounds (1/2 kilo)

150g (5 oz.) horseradish root
500g (1 lb + a little more) cooked beets
1 tsp. salt
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup sugar

Grate the horseradish using a thin grater. Grind the beets in a meat grinder. Add the salt, vinegar and sugar and mix well. Spoon into a sterile jar, seal and keep chilled. Serve with gefilte fish.

Poster's Notes:
I either grate the beets too, or process. Never tried the meat grinder method.
