1- 8 to 10 oz. package thin pretzels
Melt chocolate by handfuls, in a low-sided bowl in the microwave just until melted. Use defrost, or very low power and check after one minute, then stir, and heat again. White chocolate will burn quickly if overheated.
Alternately, melt over a double boiler, making sure not to get any water into the chocolate, or else it will seize.
Add broken pretzels and peanuts a little at a time, and stir to have everything coated but not over-covered.
Drop on wax paper in little "haystacks." Let cool and harden. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

1 10-oz. bag Spanish peanuts
1-2 lb. white chocolate
I've made these for more years than I can remember. I always called them "Haystacks" and instead of the chow mein noodles have used very thin pretzel sticks, broken into small pieces, Spanish peanuts, and white chocolate. You can also use dark or milk chocolate, chow mein noodles, and other nuts. They make wonderful gift items.
