1 3-ounce package cream cheese, softened
3 cups confectioners' sugar
1/2 tsp. peppermint extract or orange extract or banana extract
Food coloring to match extract
Granular sugar
Mix cheese and confectioners' sugar together well. Add extract and mix.
Add food color, drop by drop, until desired color is reached.
Roll into small balls, about 1 tsp. in size. Dip into granular sugar, place on waxed paper and flatten with a fork (or press into candy molds and release onto waxed paper.) Allow to dry thoroughly. Freezes well after dry or keeps well in airproof container.

I have dipped the bottoms of the dried candies into chocolate and that went over well.
