Honey and Almond Cake, Convenience (P, TNT)

Serves: 12 or more

1 can apple pie filling or other fruit pie filling
1 small can crushed pineapple, undrained
1/2 teaspoon almond or vanilla flavoring
1/4 cup liquid honey
1 white or yellow prepackaged cake mix
1/3 cup margarine
1/2 cup water
Maraschino or candied cherries for garnish

Mix first four ingredients in a bowl and then spread evenly over the bottom on an oblong cake pan. (A glass baking dish is best.)

Melt margarine over low heat. Add water. Stir. Add cake mix. Stir until well blended. Pour over fruit and honey mixture.

Garnish with cherries and bake in a 350°F oven for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the cake mixture comes out dry.

This honey cake made with a boxed cake mix and canned pie filling will delight your family and guests and no one will ever know how easy it was--unless you tell them.
