Source: Myself and a friend
Yield: 9"x13" cake (8 servings)

1 package chocolate cake mix
2 cans cherry pie filling
1 cup nuts, coarsely chopped (I used pecans)
1/2 package chocolate chips (divided in half)
1-1/2 sticks margarine (melted)

Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray 9"x13" pan with Pam.

Spread 2 cans of cherry pie filling over bottom of pan. Sprinkle half of the chocolate chips on top of pie filling. Next sprinkle 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Next cover with chocolate cake mix (DRY). Top cake mix with remaining nuts and chocolate chips. Finally, pour melted margarine over top, evenly.

Bake at 350°F 45 to 50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Serve warm or at room temperature. You can top with ice cream or whipped topping. Cake is very rich.
