1 cup liquid (water, juice, milk, coffee, etc.)
Mix all ingredients until smooth. Pour into a greased or sprayed 10" bundt or tube pan. It can also be made as two 9" layers, one 9"x13" rectangular cake or 24 cupcakes.
Bake in a preheated 350°F oven about 1 hour for the 10" pan, less for the other sizes.

1 tsp. flavoring (vanilla, almond, lemon, etc.), or more
1 cup optional ingredients (chocolate chips, chopped nuts, dried fruit, etc.)
2 cups sugar (white or brown or a combination)
3 cups flour (you can sub 1/2 cup cocoa for 1/2 cup flour for a chocolate cake )
3 tsp. baking powder
4 eggs
This recipe is is very easy and versatile, using only one bowl. It was popular in Columbus, Ohio many years ago when I lived there.
