French Toast, Bagel (D, TNT)
Source: Contribution of the Lender family (Sam, Murray and Marvin) to a Connecticut Synagogue Cookbook
Serves: 6

1 package bagels, raisin and honey or raisin cinnamon
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 capful orange extract (optional)
Butter or margarine, for frying

Soak each half of a bagel in the above ingredients for 30 minutes or overnight.

Fry the bagel halves in butter in a skillet over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes on each side, until golden. Serve with maple syrup or pancake syrup or sprinkled with confectioners' sugar.

Poster's Notes:
While the orange extract is optional, it is very good.
