French Toast II (D, TNT)

Serves: 6

2 tbsp. unsalted butter
1 baguette (French bread) or any loaf
4 large eggs lightly beaten
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/8 tsp. salt

Spread a 15"x10" jellyroll pan with butter. Cut bread into 1" thick diagonal slices.

Beat eggs in a bowl. Whisk in milk, orange juice, vanilla and salt, making a batter. Dip both sides of bread slices into batter.

Lay slices out on pan; cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.

Preheat oven to 375°F. Uncover slices and bake 10 to 12 minutes, until bread is puffy and golden brown.

To serve, top with butter and maple syrup.
