2 cups flour
Mix together then make a well in the center and put in soft butter. Pour a splash of boiling water over butter to make a soft, pliable dough (not sticky).
After mixing/kneading, roll dough into a ball, cover with a cloth and let "sit/rest" for 1/2 hour (important). Cut dough into walnut or plum size balls (depending on how large you want tortillas) and roll from center out to make round, on a lightly floured board.
Cooks best on hot cast iron; brown lightly on each side.
Poster's Notes:
This recipe is quick, easy and delicious has been our family's favorite TNT recipe for years when we want homemade tortillas. It can also be made half wheat/half white. (Makes great burritos).
