1 package dry yeast
Dissolve yeast in water; add salt, sugar and flour. Knead 5 to 10 minutes; add more flour as necessary to reduce stickiness.
Break off pieces and shape into pretzel shapes or any desired shapes. Place on greased baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg. At this point you can top the pretzels with some coarse salt if desired. Bake at 425°F for 15 minutes, or until lightly browned.
