Beer Bread, Caraway (D/P, TNT)

Yield: 1 large loaf

3 cups all purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 (12 oz.) can beer (room temperature)
2 tablespoons caraway seeds
2 tablespoons melted margarine or butter
1 egg, beaten

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease or spray 9"x5" loaf pan.

In large bowl, mix first 4 ingredients together. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and add beer and caraway seeds. Mix together until flour is moistened.

Pour into loaf pan and bake for 50 minutes. Pull out oven shelf and brush top of bread with melted margarine or beaten egg. Bake another 10 minutes or until lightly brown.

Remove and let sit 10-15 minutes before removing from pan. Serve warm. Freezes well.

A friend gave me this recipe. Its easy and delicious. The beer gives it a wonderful flavor.
