1 frozen banana, chopped into big pieces
Put all ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth.

If I hadn't run out of frozen blueberries, I would have tossed some of those in there too.
I often just blend any kind of frozen fruit (I usually have bananas and blueberries) with rice milk and that's a smoothie. If I have ice cream left over from Shabbos, I put that in. I try to remember to put in flax oil.
Ground walnuts also work; wheat germ or chocolate chips add texture (but very different tastes.... ask me which one I like better); fresh fruit rather than frozen is fine, but then you usually need ice.
I think making smoothies is kind of like making soup--just toss in whatever you have in the freezer or fridge. If a smoothie is cold and smooth and a little sweet it will be good.

1 tsp. maple syrup
Enough rice milk, or soy milk to cover and a little more
The flax seed oil is for healthy omega-3.
