16 ounces of lemon juice
Heat together sugar and 2 cups of water and the lemon juice so you get a syrup. Shut off the flame. Add enough cold water to total 1 gallon of lemonade.

What I like is that you are melting the sugar and creating the syrup, which gets rid of that gritty feel.
