In a saucepan, add all the ingredients in the order given except the nutmeg. Beat constantly over medium heat, using a wire whisk.
Reduce heat and continue to beat, whisking constantly until the mixture is very frothy. Serve immediately, sprinkled with a pinch of grated nutmeg.

Before the advent of antibiotics a little guggel-muggel was Mama Hinda's wonder drug of choice. According to Aunt Sally, she made it by adding warm milk to eggs and sugar with some of Papa Harry's schnapps. Upon ingestion the ailing were known to leap out of bed.
