Unstuffed Cabbage w/Meatballs and Spaghetti (M, TNT)

Serves: 6 to 8

1 pound spaghetti, cooked, drained and rinsed

1 pound ground beef
1 egg
1 onion
1 garlic clove
1 cup uncooked instant rice

1 8-ounce bag cole slaw mix or shred 1/2 cabbage
1 16-ounce bottle ketchup
1 16-ounce bottle ginger ale
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar

Grate the onion and the garlic in a food processor. Mix together the ground beef, the egg, the rice and the grated onion and garlic. Add salt and pepper.

Place the sauce ingredients in a soup pot, mix together, add a little salt and pepper, cover and cook slowly for 15 minutes. Add the meatballs, cover and simmer for 1-1/2 hours. Taste for salt and pepper.

Mix with the spaghetti or eliminate the spaghetti, roll the meat in cabbage leaves and cook with the sauce.
