Steaks, Sweet-Sour w/Cabbage (M, TNT)

Serves: 3 to 4

2 large chuck steaks
2 large white onions, chopped
1 14-ounce can tomato sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
4 tbsp. oil
1/2 small cabbage

Marinade:
4 tbsp. garlic, crushed
4 tbsp. fresh ginger
4 tbsp. soy sauce
4 tbsp. ketchup
1/8 cup oil
3 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. brown sugar or honey or sweetener

In a small bowl mix together marinade ingredients.

Place marinade over chuck steaks and put in plastic bag for two hours or overnight.

Preheat oven at 275°F.

Fry onions in oil until light golden brown. Place in roasting pan, chuck steaks over onions.

Spread ketchup over the steaks, and spread tomato sauce over the ketchup. Cover with tinfoil, place in heated oven for 3 to 4 hours until meat is tender when is stabbed with a fork.

Remove the meat cut into 2" to 3" pieces place back in pan. Raise oven heat to 300°F.

Cut up cabbage in large pieces place in a pot. Cover the cabbage with water and 1 tsp. salt. Put pot on the stove on high heat bring to a boil, remove the pot and drain the cabbage of water.

Put the cabbage into the pan with meat and mix together. Empty the ingredients into a large oven pan with a cover. Place in oven for 45 minutes and then uncover pan and cook for another 15 minutes.

Remove and serve with rice or noodles.
