1 medium onion, chopped or processed
Mashed potatoes, seasoned well with onion powder, garlic, and pepper.
Put a small amount of oil in pan and sauté onions for a few minutes.
Add ground beef and seasonings until almost cooked through. I do not like lumpy ground beef so I run it through a food processor but it is not essential. Add bouillon and flour and fluid from corn and cook until gravy is made, adjust flour as needed.
Take a baking pan and put the cooked beef and gravy in it, and smooth out. Add a layer of corn and then a layer of mashed potatoes.
On top of the mashed potatoes, pour a little melted margarine with a bit more onion powder and garlic powder ad a bit of paprika. You can brush this on.
Bake in oven until potatoes are golden brown and innards are bubbling. (350° is fine) for this size maybe a half an hour.

I cook this for my senior lunch program and they all love it but of course I cook for about 50 to 60 people so I will try to scale it back for 1 pound of ground beef.
