Meatballs:
Sauce:
Wet bread (if using bread and not crumbs or matzo meal), mix the bread or the crumbs/meal in with the meat, eggs and spices. Mix well.
Shape meat into meatballs, not too small as they boil down a bit. Fill a soup pot halfway with water and bring meatballs to a boil.
Boil for 20 to 30 minutes. Skim fat off the top.
Add the ingredients of the sauce. Gently boil until meatballs are done.

3 pounds ground beef
Bread/bread crumbs or matzo meal, equivalent of 1 piece of bread per pound of meat
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. pepper
32 ounces tomato sauce
2 6-ounce cans tomato paste
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
5 to 8 tbsp. grape jelly
4 to 6 tbsp. lemon juice
I usually double the sauce, it's a matter of taste.
