1-1/2 pounds ground meat
Process everything but the meat until finely chopped. Combine with the ground beef and let sit in the refrigerator until needed.
Form into patties and grill.
Poster's Notes:
For hamburgers on the grill, here is Ziva's (who is married to Marcelle and lives in Ein Kerem, Jerusalem) way of making them.
After last year's Lag B'omer Synagogue barbeque and before our granddaughter's second birthday barbeque at our house--while menu setting--my husband told me that the definitive hamburgers were made from Ziva's mix. And yes--I am sure he tasted them all because he was manning the grill.
Very fortunately, I saw her while I was driving down the street and generous woman that she is got the "recipe."
All I can say is they were the hit of the party. The origin of the recipe is most likely Moroccan. The only caveat is I didn't write it down and once again--the advice to eat a lot because you may never see it again stands. I've tried to write it as a recipe but
I really don't cook that way so alter it freely.
