5 to 7 Roma tomatoes, sliced
Put sliced tomatoes in small bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Drizzle with vinegar and oil, maybe 2 teaspoons of each or to taste. Prepare to this point a few hours ahead; do not refrigerate.
Toast bread slices. As they come out of the toaster, rub one side with garlic clove.
Stack basil leaves one on the other and roll like a cigar. Cut across into fine ribbons (chiffonade). Add to tomatoes.
Serve bread in basket and tomatoes in bowl, with a fork. Take one tomato slice; put it on bread slice. Yum! Can be served dairy by adding slices of fresh mozzarella to tomatoes.
