When someone mentions keeping old wine, I am reminded of a story about wine.
My husband's father died when he was 19. Poor he was. His whole yarusha was a very good bottle of VSOP. We did not use this when we were married, or when our 3 children were born or for any big event. When it was time for our first son's Bar Mitzvah, my husband finally agreed to open the bottle.
With great fanfare, we gathered around as he opened the bottle, took a sip and gagged. It had turned bad and of course was dumped.
Don't save the wine, liquor--live life and enjoy and know how wonderful it was to have received it.
